Pop-by one of our upcoming pop-up office hours to meet with City staff and learn more about these programs. The City’s COVID-19 Emergency Relief Grants are available to support Hyattsville residents and businesses who experienced pandemic-related economic hardships. Program guidelines and application forms are available at hyattsville.org/rescueplan. The City’s Corridor Investment Grant program is open to businesses, community groups, and residents who would like to make an impact in Hyattsville’s commercial corridors!   8. Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Organization Meeting

    The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates volunteers about the hazards that may impact their region and train them in basic disaster response skills. During an incident, emergency service personnel may not be able to reach everyone right away. By training in the CERT program, you will have the skills to help emergency responders save lives and protect property. The next CER Team Organizational Meeting will take place on March 29, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the City Building Multipurpose Room, 4310 Gallatin Street. Anyone is welcome to attend as the Team sets next steps for training and coordination.

    Learn how to recognize an opioid overdose and safely administer NARCAN, a life-saving drug used to reverse the effects of an opioid overdose, by attending a community training! Space is limited and registration is required. The Prince George’s County Health Department will provide everyone that completes the training with a single dose of NARCAN® they can use in an emergency. A second training date is available on March 31, from 10 - 11 AM.
