PARK(ing) Day
What is PARK(ing) Day?
PARK(ing) Day is an annual, international event where citizens, artists and businesses collaborate to temporarily transform metered parking spaces into PARK(ing) spaces: pop-up public places. Throughout Hyattsville in the 3rd week of September, you will find PARK(ing) spaces set up so you can enjoy temporary parks in spaces typically reserved for cars. PARK(ing) Day is returning in 2022 and will be held on Friday, September 16th!. This will be the 5th PARK(ing) Day in Hyattsville where spaces will be created by community members, businesses, and nonprofits in our community.
How can my business or organization get involved?
The City of Hyattsville accepts applications from businesses and organizations to create a PARK(ing) space through August 31, 2022. There is no theme for PARK(ing) Day, except for some safety precautions and a prohibition on selling products and services, your imagination is the limit! Keep in mind that your group will be responsible for all set up and tear down of your park.
Businesses and organizations will receive a $100 gift card to help create the space. Participation also includes T-shirts for your group and promotion of your participation in PARK(ing) Day on the City's website, social media, and newsletters.
