Youth Center
The Hyattsville Youth Center is a free after-school resource for local students in grades 6-12.
The Center offers drop-in hours from 3-5 p.m. for group activities and homework support, and special leadership programs from 5-6 p.m. for middle and high schoolers looking to gain youth leadership expertise and job readiness training.

The Hyattsville Youth Center is currently located in the David C. Driskell Recreation Building, 3911 Hamilton Street.
New home coming soon! The City's new Youth Center is expected to open in early 2024 at 5812 40th Avenue! Learn more about that project here.

Youth Center Drop-in Activities
The Youth Center offers drop-in programming that gives Hyattsville-area students in grades 6 - 12 with a chance to connect and gain experiences valuable for school, job seeking, and navigating teen life! Programs include:
- Civic engagement and leadership development
- College and career readiness
- Extracurriculars and recreation
- Health and wellness

Youth Leadership Program
The Youth Leadership Program provides students in grades 6 – 12 with opportunities to gain leadership experience, earn student service-learning hours, and grow as youth advocates!
Participants must commit to attending weekly workshops on Thursdays from 5-6 p.m. that build valuable leadership skills and explore the City's culture, history, and operations.

Transportation
The Youth Center is accessible by local public transportation. The City provides free transportation from Nicholas Orem Middle and Northwestern High. Parents and guardians must pick up students after programming ends.
