Leonard Shand Case Update
September 10, 2020 - Prince George's County State's Attorney Aisha Braveboy announced a grand jury declined to indict the 10 officers involved in the shooting death of Mr. Leonard Shand on Sept. 26, 2019. While this ends the criminal investigation, an administrative investigation will follow. A community conversation will be held for Hyattsville residents to discuss the outcome of this case and policy recommendations in the near future.
The members of the Hyattsville Police Department continue to extend their heartfelt condolences to the Shand family for their loss.
