COVID-19 Pandemic Relief Fund

Hyattsville’s Mayor and City Council established a COVID-19 Pandemic Relief Fund in the amount of $1 million dollars to reduce the impact of economic hardships arising from the current health crisis.

COVID-19 Professional Trades Relief Fund

 Effective April 1, 2021, the City of Hyattsville will expand the COVID-19 Relief Fund Grant Program to accept applications from individuals in professional trades. This includes licensed barbers, cosmetologists, pet groomers, and tattoo artists who currently work in a business registered within City limits. Grants of $750 ($300 for non-City resident employees) will be available to cover COVID-19 related losses.

Applications will be accepted starting on Thursday, April 1, 2021. Applications will be accepted until June 30, 2021, or until funds are exhausted.

COVID-19 Working Artists Relief Fund

Effective April 1, 2021, working artists can apply for the Hyattsville COVID-19 Relief Fund Program for grants of $750 ($300 for non-City resident employees) to assist with COVID-19 related costs. A working artist, as defined in previous grant cycles, can be a business operated by an individual, or 1099 independent contractor who identifies their work as art and can prove that 50% or more of their income is derived from their work. Examples of Artists include muralist, painter, drawer, dancer, musician, sculptor, and more.

Applications will be accepted starting on Thursday, April 1, 2021. Applications will be accepted until June 30, 2021, or until funds are exhausted.

 COVID-19 Restaurant Relief Fund

Starting on Monday, March 1, 2021, the COVID Relief Fund will accept application requests from locally owned and operated restaurants, distilleries, breweries and wineries/meaderies licensed to operate in the City of Hyattsville. 

The City Council has re-appropriated funding to support regionally and locally owned full-service restaurants in the City of Hyattsville to provide $2,000 to each qualifying restaurant to be used towards rent, utilities, PPE, take out supplies, and other pandemic related overhead.  National franchise or corporately operated restaurants or kiosks are not eligible to apply for funding. 

Applications will be accepted starting 10 AM on Monday, March 1, 2021.  Applications will be accepted until April 30, 2021 or until funds are exhausted.
