Other ways to help during the COVID-19 pandemic
Donate Medical Supplies. There is a critical shortage of necessary medical supplies to protect healthcare workers and other service providers on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Donate Blood. Due to the cancellation of many community blood drives there is now a severe shortage of blood in the US. The American Red Cross is scheduling safe blood drives for healthy citizens at several locations across Maryland. Check their website frequently for updated events.
Support Local Businesses. With the Governor’s Executive Order to close all non-essential businesses, many restaurants, businesses, and non-profits are struggling to make ends meet and keep their staff employed. Please consider supporting our local business community by purchasing gift cards to use at a later date, ordering meals for take out or delivery, or making a financial donation. Visit the websites of your favorite Hyattsville businesses to learn how you can help.
Business owners can check our Business Resources page for additional support opportunities.
