Requests

Please share your requests for non-emergency services using the web app below or by calling the City's main office at (301) 985-5000 (Se habla español). These requests are reviewed by City staff during business hours, Monday - Friday, 8:30AM - 5PM. This service is also available on the My Hyattsville app, which you can download to your mobile device at the Apple and Google stores.

Requests can be made anonymously, however if you provide contact information you will be notified of progress on the request.  You can also search the map or list of public open requests to see if we're already working on your concern.

If you are experiencing an emergency or need a problem addressed during non-business hours please try the following contacts:

  • Downed power lines (PEPCO): Call 911 immediately
  • Downed communications wires (Verizon): Verizon emergency line - 1-800-837-4966
  • Water main break (WSSC): WSSC emergency line - (301) 206-4002
  • Hyattsville City Police Department: (301) 985-5060

Please note that not all streets and sidewalks are under the jurisdiction of the City of Hyattsville, and may require repair from the County or State. Learn more about which streets are maintained by the City on our Streets & Sidewalks page.

Similarly, the City's recycling collection is handled by Prince George's County. Issues related to recycling or recycling toters should be reported by calling 311 or via the 311 online service center.

Watch Areas

Create a "watch area" to receive e-mail notifications when public issues are reported and updated in your neighborhood. You can join the watch areas created for each of the City's five wards using the links below. You can also create a custom watch area by selecting "Create a Watch Area," then selecting "Draw by Hand," and clicking on points on the map. The boundaries of your watch area will automatically connect. Review this help article for more information and technical assistance.
