Harvest and Use:
- Fruits grow in clusters of 10-20 berries and ripen in August. They develop a deep purple color when ripe.
- These plants are native to Maryland and have a greater nutritional value than blueberries!
- Ripe berries are tart and sweet.
- Berries can be eaten raw or made into jams, jellies, and juices.
