Harvest and Use

  • Harvest in September - October when fruits are bright red in color.
  • Cut in half or quarters and hit the red rind with the back of a wooden spoon to release the edible seeds.
  • Seeds are sweet and tart.
  • Seeds can be eaten raw or used in salads, desserts, and baked goods.
