Administrative Office
The Administrative Office is composed of five departments and offices which are responsible for providing various services to the City residents.
The City Administrator
The City Administrator is employed by the City Council and is responsible for the proper administration of all day-to-day affairs of the city. The City Administrator supervises the several departments of the City and has the power to direct the proper execution of the Charter, the City Code, and such resolutions, regulations, and policies as the Council adopts.
The City Clerk
In conjunction with the Board of Supervisors of Elections, the city clerk is responsible for the preparation and operation of biennial city elections. The City Clerk also:
serves as clerk to the council.
provides support and assistance to the City Council and City Administrator.
prepares, maintains, and attests to official records of action taken by the City Council
serves as custodian of the City's official records.

Residents may access to the VOICE MAIL system offered by the city 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by calling 301-985-5013. Residents can call the system and hear recorded messages that provide information on all City departments, events, and activities; City Council information; public utilities; and answers to some of the most frequently asked questions on City services. The system also allows residents to leave requests for bulk trash pick up, general messages and messages for specific employees. The voice mail number is 985-5013.
