Load-A-Truck Program
In July 2000, the City began the Load-A-Truck Program to help homeowners clean up their
yards on the weekends. Residents can have
use of a dump truck, parked in their driveway, for cleaning out and loading up.
When using this service, please keep the following in mind:
- Three trucks per weekend are
available and will be dropped off on Friday before 3:30 p.m. and picked up
as soon as possible on the following Monday.
Residents must reserve a truck. Reservations are made on a
first come-first served basis. To reserve a truck call the Department of
Public Works at 301-985-5032 between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
- Only yard debris such as tree branches, limbs, grass clippings and any
other wood or biodegradable items are accepted.
Any other items such as rocks, dirt, metal or any miscellaneous items will
be hauled away at the resident's expense. (Cost could include landfill
tipping fee and use of vehicle and driver time.)
- Trucks will be locked by City staff and not moved until Monday when they are picked up.
