Public Works Department
The Hyattsville Department of Public Works is a service agency on call
24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year,
providing service to the citizens of the City.
The Department of Public Works is also responsible for
Trash and Recycling Pickup.
Residential refuse totals over 6,000 tons per year.
Over 40 pieces of equipment -- trucks, road equipment and machines -- are necessary to keep the
Department operating and providing these services.
The maintenance of this equipment is performed by City employees at our maintenance garage.
