The City has partnered with the Hyattsville Community Development Corporation and Joe’s Movement Emporium to raise awareness of our region’s history of racial injustice. As part of this initiative, Joe’s will screen two short films on housing discrimination, racial segregation, and persistent institutional racism, “All the Way Home” and “A Matter of Place”. After the screening, they will host a panel discussion with experts on un-fair housing history and practices.

Join community leaders and elected officials on Sunday, April 28, at 2 p.m., in the Greenbelt Community Center (15 Crescent Road, Greenbelt, MD 20770) for a public meeting on how to improve our local public schools. Dr. Alvin Thorton, Chair of the Board of Education for Prince George’s County, will lead the meeting by providing ideas, as well as gather feedback from residents. We’ll see you there!
