Notice of Request for Proposals
- Request for Proposals - Community Services and / or Related Uses for the 3505 Hamilton Street Office Building
Deadline: 4:00 P.M., August 11, 2008
The City of Hyattsville invites sealed responses to this Request for Proposals from community organizations, for-profit or not-for-profit organizations, schools, or related entities
regarding proposals to lease space at 3505 Hamilton Street. The City of Hyattsville has this
attractive office building under contract, and anticipates the property will be available for
occupancy in early 2009 and no later than fall of 2009. The City wishes to utilize a portion of
the building for public meeting space, and to lease most of the building to entities that will
provide benefit to the immediate and larger community.
The City will hold an optional pre-submission conference and tours of the property on July 15
from 10 AM until noon, and on July 23 from 2 PM until 4 PM. Interested parties should call
the City at 301-985-5013 to indicate their intention to attend. The sealed RFPs are due by 4 PM on August 11, 2008 at 4310 Gallatin Street, Hyattsville,

Hyattsville Pavement Rehabilitation Program
- On April 24, 2006, the City's contractor, NZI, Inc., commenced work on the second year of the Five (5) Year Street Rehabilitation Project. This phase of the program totals 26,719 linear feet of street rehabilitation, including some combination of the replacement of curbs, gutters, sidewalks, drainage structures, handicapped ramp indicators, along with street milling and asphalt paving.

Notice from the Department of Public Works: Select here for a list of the Streets/Blocks that are included in the Construction Year (CY08) 08 work (PDF document). Hyattsville Bicycle-Pedestrian Committee Report
- The Hyattsville Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety Committee prepared a report with recommendations that encompass transit and safety concerns for the entire City, across intersections and roads that span City, County and State jurisdictions.

Hyattsville Environment Committee Report
- The Hyattsville Environment Committee was tasked with providing the City Council with recommendations on four issues involving the environment and the City of Hyattsville. The first issue addressed by the committee for Council and staff consideration is a City plan, in conformance with the recently signed Trash Free Potomac Treaty, that could serve as an application for EPA's Waste Wise (waste reduction) program. Proposed Development - West Hyattsville Commons
- On February 5, 2007 the Hyattsville Planning Committee Meeting hosted developers for West Hyattsville Commons, envisioned to become a new transit-oriented, mixed-use community incorporating a variety of town homes, condominiums, offices, significant retail, and public open spaces with waterfront amenities, as well as major WMATA improvements. This proposed commercial and residential redevelopment is near the West Hyattsville Metro.

PEPCO Report

At a Community Meeting held on February 28, 2007, representatives from PEPCO gave a presentation of the Reliability Study done for the City of Hyattsville. Changes to Single-Family Rental License
- On April 24, 2006, the Hyattsville Mayor and City Council passed three revisions to the City’s Single-Family Rental License and Inspection Ordinance. The revisions took effect on November 1, 2007. If you own/operate a Single-Family Rental property in Hyattsville, you may be impacted by these revisions.
The major revisions to the ordinance are the "3 unrelated persons" exception from owner-occupied rental properties, the addition of a criminal penalty for failing to obtain a rental license, and the increase in the fine from $100.00 to $250.00 for a first offense violation. The ordinance, regulations and a question and answer brochure are available on the City website, http://www.hyattsville.org in both English and Spanish versions.

El 24 de abril de 2006, el Alcalde y Concilio Municipal de Hyattsville promulgaron tres revisiones al Reglamento de Permiso Municipal de Renta e Inspección de Viviendas Unifamiliares (Single-Family Rental License and Inspection Ordinance). Si usted es propietario y/o operador de una propiedad residencial para una sola familia en Hyattsville estas revisiones, que tendrán efecto al 1º de noviembre de 2007, podrían afectarle.
Las revisiones más importantes al reglamento afectado son la excepción para “3 personas no emparentadas” en propiedades rentales ocupadas por el dueño, la adición de una pena criminal por no obtener permiso para rentar, y aumento de la multa, de $100 a $250 por la primera infracción.

Residential Parking Program Resumes
- Residential Parking enforcement began on March 1, 2005.This Ordinance requires a permit to park for more than two hours during the times posted. These parking restrictions pertain only to those streets that currently have signs posted designating the block as a Residential Parking Zone. Any previously issued parking permits and guest permits are no longer valid and new permits must be obtained.
Significant changes have been made to this ordinance. Visit
