The Hyattsville Armory Apartments is a mixed-use development along the 5300 block of Baltimore Avenue, where there are currently several vacant buildings painted in bright colors. The developer, Urban Investment Partners (UIP), is proposing a project that will include 32,000 square feet of ground floor retail space, along with 284 apartments and a structured parking garage to support the development.
The development will also feature a pedestrian walking space between the apartments and the Hyattsville Armory building. This area will feature outdoor dining, as well as benches, water features and landscaping to buffer the Armory building from the new development.
The City Council was presented plans for this development on July 16, 2018. The City Council voted to support the plan on November 5, 2018. The Planning Board hearing is anticipated to take place in January 2019. Application details can be found here.
