PARK(ing) Day

Good News! PARK(ing) Day is returning to Hyattsville on September 21, 2018!

What is PARK(ing) Day?

PARK(ing) Day is an annual, international event where citizens, artists and businesses collaborate to temporarily transform metered parking spaces into PARK(ing) spaces: pop-up public places. Throughout Hyattsville on September 21, you will find PARK(ing) spaces set up so you can enjoy temporary parks in spaces typically reserved for cars. This will be the third annual PARK(ing) Day in Hyattsville and the first year PARK(ing) spaces will be created by businesses and nonprofits in our community.

How can my business or organization get involved?

The City of Hyattsville is accepting applications from businesses and organizations to create a PARK(ing) space through August 15, 2018. There is no theme for PARK(ing) Day, so except for some safety precautions and a prohibition on selling products and services, your imagination is the limit! Keep in mind that your group will be responsible for all set up and tear down of your park.

Businesses and organizations will receive a $100 gift card to help create the space. Participation also includes T-shirts for your group and promotion of your participation in PARK(ing) on the City’s website, social media, and newsletters.
