Bulk Trash and White Goods Pickup
NOTICE: Beginning October 6, 2020, the City is temporarily suspending bulk trash and white good appliance pick-ups from City residences until March 2021. During this time, the City will offer a few bulk trash pop-up events for residents to drop off bulk waste items. For questions, please contact the City’s Department of Public Works at (301) 985-5032.
10 a.m. - 2 p.m. or until container capacities are reached
City of Hyattsville residents may bring bulk trash items to containers located at either the City Building (4310 Gallatin Street) or Magruder Park (3911 Hamilton Street). Follow guidance on acceptable items listed below.
Bulk trash collections occur on the first and third Friday of each month. Pickups must be scheduled in advance, and are limited to 25 households a day. To request a pickup, residents can call (301) 985-5032, use the My Hyattsville mobile app, or visit www.hyattsville.org/request.
As a reminder, below are a few of the guidelines when requesting bulk trash pickup:
White good appliance pickups are available by request only. White goods include air conditioners, freezers, refrigerators, stoves, washers, dryers, hot water heaters, and dishwashers.
Please note that white goods that are still in working order, as well as building materials and furniture that can be reused, can all be donated to Community Forklift for resale (and to prevent them from going into landfills). To schedule a free pickup, call 301-832-0781.
White goods that don't work, and tires, can be picked up by the City's Department of Public Works. Residents can schedule a free pickup here or by calling (301) 985-5032.
